Thanks to everyone who came along to the LBA meeting last night at Boxcar Brewery to hear our presentation on Enzybrew.
Over 100 brewers were in the audience for what was a really productive, and hopefully informative, talk on the features and benefits of the new enzyme-based cleaning detergent.
Thanks especially to Sam at Boxcar Brewery for his hospitality!
For everyone who wasn’t present in Hackney, here’s a brief summary of the all-in-one, eco-friendly cleaning product from Realzyme, available now from NicheSolutions.
Specially designed for the daily cleaning of microbrewery equipment, it’s an enzyme-based powdered detergent rather than a traditional caustic-based cleaning solution.
Enzybrew is proving popular with brewers because it’s an eco-friendly, all-in-one detergent, cutting your costs as it works on biofilms as well as all the organic residues encountered during the production of beer.
— ENZYBREW 10 is ideal for the deep, safe cleaning of filter plates, wort cooler and maturation, boiling and fermentation tanks.
— As a natural, non-caustic detergent, it’s safe to use alongside other cleaning products such as those which contain chlorine.
— And because it works at much lower temperatures, it’s more energy efficient.
We asked Lorenzo, head brewer at Redchurch Brewery, for his thoughts after trying out the new product:
— “Regarding the Enzybrew, I’m more than happy to share my feedback,” Lorenzo replied. “We tried it cleaning our Underback / Heat-exchanger / Carbonation stones. We found the result brilliant: the underback was shiny as new.
— “The enzyme is very effective on Biofilm and tiny places, so I would suggest to run an occasional enzymatic CIP on fermenters, heat exchanger and sensitive areas to protect the brewery from contamination origins.
— “Other positives points are that it is not dangerous for the operator and it is environment-friendly.”
